Growing up in the picturesque landscapes of Far North Queensland, my childhood was captivated with a sense of wonder and curiosity. I was raised on a cattle farm west of Mareeba surrounded nature a belief of something more. From an earl age I had my own set of angel cards. There was something about the promise of guidance, as if the answers to life's mysteries lay waiting to be unveiled with every shuffle and draw. I have always looked deeper to life's finer details and I often gave my friends readings or advise whenever they visited me.
Even in the midst of tumultuous times, such as my divorce, I found solace in the gentle whispers of guidance cards. One day in the mail I received a package from my Mum who 350km away receiving cancer treatment. Inside the tiny package laid The Angel Feather Oracle Deck by Michelle Newton. This thoughtful gift because my daily solace into brining hope into days that were filled with despair. My marriage had been marred by emotional abuse, leaving me shattered and struggling to reclaim my sense of self-worth. Even after the marriage had ended I still suffered years of bullying, threats and intimidation. It took years to undo the damaging narratives of unworthiness, but through it all, the angel feather oracle cards became my lifeline, a beacon of hope illuminating the darkness.
As the years passed and my collection of card decks grew, a persistent thought began to nag at me — the notion that I, too, could create my own deck. Doubts and uncertainties clouded my mind, and I was clueless about where to begin. Despite facing silence from artists I reached out to, the pull to create persisted. It was then that I turned to my talented son, Keoni, with a tentative proposal. To my delight, he eagerly agreed, igniting a collaborative journey that would transform my vision into reality.
Sitting beside him as he painted, I found myself drawn to the canvas, expressing my own inner stirrings through brushstrokes. Encouraged by his belief in my abilities, I embarked on the task of completing the deck solo, discovering unexpected joy in the process. What emerged was not just a collection of cards but a 10500-word guidebook, a testament to my journey of self-discovery and healing.
The Hope Deck was born from the depths of my soul, a compass guiding others back to themselves. It serves as a reminder that amidst life's trials, our truest healing comes from within, as we embrace our authenticity and let go of comparisons. With each card, I offer a map to awakening, a beacon of light illuminating the path towards self-love and acceptance.
In crafting the Hope Deck, I found my masterpiece — a testament to the transformative power of radical self-love and acceptance. As we embrace our uniqueness and shine brightly, we become the brightest stars in the sky, illuminating the world with our inner radiance.
